But the stronger second half gives us the episodes of Nambi being arrested on false charges of selling the nation’s secrets and being accused as a traitor, which leads to unfair imprisonment, third-degree treatments at the hands of cops and being shunned by the society. The film doesn’t go too deep into the scientist’s attempts to clear his name, and instead focuses more on the emotional fallout of the allegations on him and his family. This approach turns Rocketry into a sentimental drama, which feels like a rather safe choice, given that the story offers scope for it to be an edgier film – a cautionary thriller on how, in our country, even those with the best intentions can instantly be vilified due to abuse of power.

On the whole, ROCKETRY: THE NAMBI EFFECT tells a shocking story of an ISRO genius and is embellished with an award-winning performance by R Madhavan. At the box office, it will have to depend on a positive word of mouth from its target audience.

Nambi Narayanan is a man who deserves to be celebrated and the film does just that. It does not only highlight his achievements, it also discusses his shortcomings, which makes Rocketry a worthy watch. Rocketry: The Nambi Effect is a film that could have been a phenomenal watch. Despite the shortcomings, the story of Nambi Narayanan makes it a decent watch.

Rocketry is a movie that must be celebrated because an artist has tried to come out of his comfort zone and tell a story not many could dare. It is about a man who gave this country big achievements but was compensated with brutality. It took almost two decades for the government to give a veteran scientist a clean chit in a case he was never guilty of. It is a story that must be told and heard!
